Why do you think some cultures try to force children to be right-handed?

I think it's not a good idea to force children , because left-handedness has it's own good.For example left-handers play basketball well.If you are left-handed,you want to be right-handed,it's diffcult and you whould take a lot of time to change . It would not be good for you.So,we should not force children to be right-handed.After all,the right hand and the left hand are both your hand.
